Soilspective: Beneath the Surface
A vidcast series exploring soil from every perspective
Soil is the foundation of life, a key player in climate resilience, and a source of cultural, scientific, and artistic inspiration.
Soilspective: Beneath the Surface is a 20-episode vidcast series that brings soil into conversation with the world around us.
Across 30 to 40 minute episodes, the series will explore soil through multiple perspectives, including science, art, community, policy, culture, environmental action, and beyond. Through conversations with experts, researchers, artists, activists, policymakers, entrepreneurs, and community voices, Soilspective uncovers the vital role soil plays in sustaining ecosystems, cultures, economies, and everyday life.
Each episode invites audiences to look beneath the surface and discover how soil connects to climate resilience, biodiversity, food systems, creativity, well-being, and collective action.
From soil biodiversity, healthy soils, degradation, pollution reduction, monitoring, climate change, and food systems, to citizen engagement, soil literacy, creative storytelling, public policy, local stewardship, education, cultural heritage, and funding soil innovation across Europe, each episode opens a new window into the world beneath our feet.
The series will also make key ideas more accessible, including the Soil Deal for Europe, the role of municipalities and cities in protecting soil, and the future of soil stewardship through real stories of change and action.
The episodes will be available on the SoilTribes website and our YouTube channel.
