SoilTribes Meet-up #1: A collective journey toward a climate-resilient future
On the 6th of June, the SoilTribes community came together for its first meet-up, weaving connections among dedicated individuals and projects working passionately for healthier soils and a more resilient planet. The gathering was an inspiring moment of shared visions and collective purpose.
The event began with a powerful exercise: participants shared what soil means to them. Answers such as “asset,” “foundation of ecosystem,” “life,” and “biodiversity” captured the deep connection between people and the ground beneath our feet, reminding us that soil is far more than just what we have in mind; it is the essence of life itself.
A highlight of the meeting was the intervention of Ms. Marialuisa Dal Poz from the Directorate-General for Agriculture and Rural Development. She shared valuable insights about the EU Mission Soil, underscoring how each project contributes to the broader mission: achieving a climate-neutral and climate-resilient society, where threats to human health and natural ecosystems are reduced to levels no longer considered harmful.
This meet-up was a moment of convergence for ideas, hopes, and action. As we move forward, the SoilTribes community remains committed to nurturing the soil and the vibrant ecosystems it sustains, laying the foundation for a healthier, more sustainable future.
