SoilTribes launches its first soil synergy workshop on citizen engagement in soil health
On 25th June 2025, SoilTribes hosted its inaugural Soil synergy workshop, bringing together key stakeholders to foster collaboration in soil awareness and literacy. The 90-minute online session aimed to deepen the understanding of the “Soil Realm”, encompassing other soil-related initiatives and missions, identify valuable insights and synergies from existing projects and highlight relevant resources, tools, and content for SoilTribes activities.
Presentations were shared by leading EU-funded projects like HuMUS, SOLO, CURIOSOIL, and PREPSOIL. A key takeaway was the need for a unified resource for soil literacy, rather than competing projects. The Soil Mission platform was suggested as a potential hub for these resources. Participants also discovered the Mission Soil Cluster, a group focused on citizen engagement and soil literacy, reinforcing the importance of cross-project collaboration to boost public awareness and impact.
SoilTribes’ first Soil Synergy workshop set a powerful precedent for collaboration in the soil space, encouraging future initiatives to work together for a more informed and engaged public on soil-related issues.
