SoilTribes Featured on CORDIS: Valuing Soil Through Science, Art and Policy

SoilTribes has been featured on CORDIS, the EU research results service, bringing the project’s work and vision to a wider European audience.

Published under the title “Valuing our soil through science, art and policy,” the CORDIS feature explores how SoilTribes is bringing people closer to soil by connecting scientific knowledge, creative expression, policy and society.

The CORDIS article highlights this multidisciplinary approach through concrete SoilTribes initiatives already creating opportunities to learn about, experience and act for soil. 

Among the initiatives highlighted by CORDIS is the Living Soil Museum in Ukraine, whose eastern hub was inaugurated at Poltava State Agrarian University in June 2026. The museum combines scientific research and education and forms part of the “Soil Ark: Shaping Soil Futures Together” initiative.

The CORDIS feature also turns its attention to “Soil Art Tales. Living Ecosystems for Shared Futures,” the SoilTribes travelling exhibition organised by the Global Network of Water Museums. 

The feature also highlights Policy Pathways, a SoilTribes resource developed to support policymakers in turning soil protection into practical action.

The dedicated digital space will bring together a series of five booklets and accompanying audiobooks prepared by ICLEI Europe, each focusing on soil-related challenges and possible responses available to public authorities.

Being featured on CORDIS gives these SoilTribes initiatives greater visibility within the European research and innovation landscape.

Importantly, the feature is available in six languages – German, English, Spanish, French, Italian and Polish – extending access to the project’s work across different European audiences.

This multilingual visibility reflects the broader SoilTribes approach: soil challenges cross disciplines, communities and borders, and the knowledge generated around them should do the same.
