Soil Stories of Mini-Forests
Belgium
About
Soil discovery.
Soil Stories of Mini-Forests is a 12-month soil discovery initiative led by GoodPlanet Belgium in Brussels and schools across Belgium. It works with young people aged 10–14 through scientific observation, experimentation, citizen science, and artistic creation. Pilot schools create artworks for exhibition at the Wiels Museum, while wider activities involve workshops in 60 schools, woodlice identification in 300 schools, climate measurement in 80 schools, and a free pedagogical toolkit. The project strengthens soil biodiversity literacy and emotional connection to living soils.
Project overview

June–July 2026 pilot schools and exhibition; September–October workshops in 60 schools; October–November citizen science with 300 schools; climate devices in 80 schools; pedagogical toolkit by end of 2026.
