Soil Art Tales: Announcement of the shortlisted artists
The Soil Art Tales initiative, part of the SoilTribes project, was launched to explore new ways of understanding and engaging with soil through artistic expression. The open call, which opened on 25 January 2025, invited artists to submit proposals for works that could add emotional and motivational layers to the human-soil connection, offering fresh perspectives on this vital natural element.
After a careful evaluation process, the following eight artists have been shortlisted:
- Jo Pearl
- Binta Diaw
- Nikki Lindt
- Miguel Teodoro
- Giuseppe La Spada
- Bethany Kopsei
- Xin Yang
- Segal Calin
These artists stood out for their innovative approaches and the thought-provoking nature of their proposals, which align with the project’s goals.

The shortlisted artists were chosen by a distinguished selection committee, which included:

- Office for Climate Education (OCE) team members

What’s Next?

The exhibition will be hosted in seven European museums during the SoilTribes project. A separate call for host museums will be launched shortly.
