About
Artistic-driven soil literacy solutions and pilots.
SOIL STEAM SUITE is a six-month art-science education initiative led by Arti Sanat in Hatay and Mersin, Türkiye. It develops a classroom-safe modular STEAM kit for children aged 8–14 and teachers, covering soil respiration, organic carbon, erosion, texture, structure, and pollution. The project combines sensor-based experiments with creative drama, clay modeling, storytelling, teacher training, children’s workshops, and a bilingual TR/EN toolkit. It supports hands-on soil literacy and practical soil-care awareness among students and educators.
Project overview
Low soil literacy and limited public engagement with soil protection among children and teachers, especially around organic carbon loss, erosion, structure, and pollution.
M1–M2 co-design; M2–M4 kit and content development; M4–M5 pilot workshops with around 400 students and 20 teachers; M6 bilingual TR/EN toolkit, documentation, demo video, and dissemination.
