Soil Story

Ireland

About

Theatre work for a young audience.

Soil Story is a six-month theatre and early childhood soil literacy initiative led by Soil Studio in County Sligo, Ireland. Created for young children aged 3 to 6 years, Soil Story is told from the perspective of the humble worm and has been developed with early childhood care and education settings.
Through theatre, music, movement and a story—soil’s story, in fact—young children get to meet, hold and care for real living worms and connect with soil as a living, breathing ecosystem.
The project aims to build ecological empathy and create ripple effects in early childhood settings, families and local communities across Sligo.
